From the Stonewall riots in New York City to annual Pride parades all over the world, the LGBT community has had a long history of battles and triumphs. Pride Month is not only a celebration of self expression and self love, but it is also about championing equal rights for all, uplifting our loved ones, as well as an opportunity to create a safe space for all people — regardless of sexual orientation.

We all have our implicit biases, and we can’t address the barriers LGBTQ individuals face if we don’t acknowledge them. It’s up to us to reach out to these resources and to experts to educate us and to inform us how to be more inclusive and respectful.

You can also check out the Human Rights Campaign's map that highlights the policies and laws in each state, so you can participate in conversations that help to have the ongoing LGBTQ issues heard.
Knowing these policies and laws will also help you spread awareness and advocate for your LGBTQ+ coworkers.
