Why can’t this experience be done in a hybrid setting?

Accepted Answer

Our **remote-only** experiences are designed to be played by participants on individual devices in separate spaces. Each participant will need their own device to utilize features necessary to gameplay such as breakout rooms, the chat box, turning individual cameras on and off, etc.

If participants are not fully remote for this experience, your host will have to pivot to our **fun and interactive** Speed Puzzler game since we will not be able to run the event as intended. How is the game hosted?

Emoji Charades comes facilitated with a **Confetti game organizer**, who will create and host the Zoom meeting for you — free of charge! This is to ensure a seamless game experience and to take as many hosting duties off your plate as possible.

At the designated start time for your event, everyone will gather in the main Zoom room where your game organizer will take some time at the start to go over all instructions and rules of the game. From there, players will be delegated into breakout rooms of **up to 10 players each**, where they will then divide into two smaller teams to go head-to-head and play through the game!

Teams will take turns between acting out clues & guessing and watching the other team (to make sure there isn’t any cheating going on)! 🔎 Both teams will be participating in every round, as each individual player will always see something on their screen: prompting them to **act out clues, guess, or referee!**

Your game organizer remains in the main Zoom room throughout the entire experience in case anyone has any questions or troubleshooting needs. At the end of the experience, your game organizer will bring everyone back to the main Zoom room, share the final scores, pass off hosting rights to a member of your party, and hop off the call so your group can hang out further! 🕺

Can I request a specific host?

We are unable to guarantee certain hosts for Charades, as their booking is dependent on availability. Please [reach out to our Support Team](https://www.withconfetti.com/resources/contact-us?via=form) and we'll do our best to make it happen. Either way, we promise you'll have a wonderful experience with any of our vetted hosts!

Question 4

Is this experience international friendly?

Accepted Answer

For international participants, we recommend selecting our General Charades game. If players feel a word is too complicated, they have the option to “skip” and keep the game moving. If this is something you’re concerned about, please let us know.

What if my team does not have access to Google Drive?

Accepted Answer

For teams that don’t have access, we will provide materials via the Zoom chat. **Please enable the Google Drive Alternative option in your booking preferences, if needed.**

Question 6

Why do I have to bring my phone AND computer?

We like to suggest that everyone come prepared with their smart phones and computers ready, as we've found this to be the most seamless way to play our Charades experience!

We suggest that players **sign onto Zoom using their computers**, whether it be through the Zoom app or website, and then **access the link [guess.party](https://guess.party/) on their smart phones to play**. This way, players can play the game itself from their phones while running Zoom on their computers, and no one has to toggle between different tabs/screens.

If someone is unable to bring a phone, no worries — **you can still definitely play from a computer only!**

Can we create team names?

Teams are not able to create names since they are generated randomly within the game.

Question 8

Can we have teams of more than 5 people?

Accepted Answer

Each game room can accommodate **a maximum of 10 participants** (2 teams of 5 players each). We've found that teams larger than 5 aren't able to collaborate as effectively, since there are so many people in one Zoom room. If you have multiple teams, all groups will play Emoji Charades simultaneously.

Can we re-randomize teams throughout the game?

Due to the structure and duration of Emoji Charades, we are unable to re-randomize teams during the game.

Question 10

Will participants return to the main room once the game is over?

Accepted Answer

Participants will be divided into teams using breakout rooms, and will play through their Emoji Charades game in these separate rooms. If you finish early, encourage your team to pop back into the main room to hang out! At the end of the experience, your Confetti Game Organizer will return all teams to the main room to wrap up the event.

My team has played this game before. Can we book again?

Yes, you can! But please note there is only one version of Emoji Charades currently.

Question 12

Will participants run into any issues if they join late?

Accepted Answer

Latecomers will simply be brought to wherever their team is in the Emoji Charades game when they join! So if they're late and their team has already started, they will miss whichever parts of the game their team has already completed. We can always give 5-10 mins of wiggle room for people to enter the Zoom before starting, during which players can go through 'icebreakers' with their team while waiting!

Can the duration of this experience be adjusted?

At this time, we are unable to customize or adjust the duration of Charades. The game itself takes about **45 minutes** to play through. For the best experience, we recommend planning for an event that is **60 minutes** long to account for setup, instructions, and gameplay.

How many winners are there? Can we award prizes?

Prizes are **not** included or required. You're welcome to source your own prizes - please [reach out to our Support Team](https://www.withconfetti.com/resources/contact-us?via=form) and we can help with this! There will be one winning team with up to 5 players maximum.

While there is a "winner" per breakout room as teams go head-to-head, the leaderboard calculates the highest scoring team from the entire event, highlighting the top 3 teams overall.
